Southampton Cops Make Early Morning DWI, DWAI Stops

Two arrested on Route 24 early Sunday morning.

Jose M Galves, 29, of Center Moriches, was arrested around 3:20 a.m. early Sunday morning on charges of driving while intoxicated. According to Southampton Police, Galves was seen by police driving on Route 24 in Flanders while talking on a cell phone without a hands free device, while also failing to maintain his lane. He was stopped and reportedly found to be intoxicated. He was transported to Southampton Police headquarters, processed, and charge with DWI and given infractions for driving without a license, prohibited use of a cell phone, and moving from a lane unsafely. He was held for a morning arraignment.

Fernando Pablo, 39, of Riverside, was arrested on Sunday morning on charges of driving while ability impaired. According to Southampton Police, Pablo was observed driving on Route 24 in Riverside after dark, without his headlights on. Police said that after stopping Pablo, it was believed he was driving while intoxicated. He was processed and charged with DWAI and driving without headlamps after dark. He was processed and released on a desk appearance ticket.
