Southampton Police: DWI, Criminal Possession of a Weapon

A list of recent crime activity as reported by the Southampton Town Police Department.

Brenda M. Richardson, 48, of Flanders, was arrested on Feb. 23 on charges of menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. According to police, Richardson got into an argument with her landlord and brandished a kitchen knife, threatening to stab her. No injuries were sustained. Richardson was transported to police headquarters, processed, and held for morning arraignment. 

Wilian Siguenza Sanmartin, 23, of Flanders, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated. Southampton police said Sanmartin was observed driving in Hampton Bays, when he allegedly threw a beer can out of his window. He we pulled over, determined to be driving while intoxicated, transported to headquarters, and held for morning arraignment. 

Jesse Huber, 32, of Riverhead, was arrested on Feb. 23 on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and harassment in the second degree. According to police, an employee of Marta's Deli in Riverside had reported that Huber was causing a disturbance inside the store. Upon police arrival, Huber was reportedly found on the property of Budget Host Motel, yelling and cursing. While being arrested, Huber allegedly attempted to headbutt and kick the arresting officer; no injuries were reported. Huber was then transported to headquarters and held for morning arraignment. Police reported that while in his holding cell, Huber tore the sheets off his cot, stuffed them into the toilet, and repeatedly flushed the toilet, causing flooding in the detention hallway. He was then charged with criminal tampering in the third degree.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
