Police: Flanders Man Sexually Abused 5-Year-Old

A Flanders man stands charged with a felony sex crime.

• Rolando Luque, 38, of Flanders, was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated sexual abuse and a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to police reports, an investigation by Southampton Town Police revealed that Luque had sexually touched a five-year-old girl.

Southampton Town Police Det. Sgt. Lisa Costa said the incidents occurred over a period of time ranging from September through November of 2012, and Luque is known to the child.

According to Southampton Town Justice Court, he is due for arraignment on Wednesday.

• A Riverhead man was arrested on an active arrest warrant on Feb. 15 after his ex-girlfriend reportedly found him sleeping in their son’s bed in her Flanders home.

According to reports, Birtis Exum, 45, has been arrested on Jan. 31 on charges of harassment in the second degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree, and menacing in the second degree, all misdemeanors.

Police reports state the woman notified police around 1:45 a.m. that Exum was in their son’s bed and was trespassing at her home. He was arrested, transported to headquarters for processing and held for arraignment.
