Southampton Police Log: Calverton Man Caught With Cocaine

Fleeing
• A Calverton resident was charged with unlawful fleeing, a misdemeanor on Sunday after police tried to pull her over in Southampton near Mecox Road for reckless driving. Police said the woman at one point left a passenger out of her car while driving away from cops. Police said they attempted to locate the passenger, but were unable to.

Criminal Possession of a Weapon
• Angel Aquino, 38, of Riverhead was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, in the third degree, a felony, after police said he was involved in a fight with his girlfriend on Thursday. Police said Aquino slapped his girlfriend and then chased her with a sledge hammer.

DWI
• Police charged Gerson Ruiz, 21, of Flanders with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Friday, after they pulled him over on Lewis Road in East Quogue for failing to maintain his lane.
Drugs
• A 21-year-old Calverton man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a misdemeanor, on Friday after police said they found him sitting in the drivers seat of a car, parked on Foster Avenue in Hampton Bays. Police said the man had the drug Molly.
• A 38-year-old Calverton man was caught with a quantity of cocaine on Friday. Police said the man was walking to the Beach Bar parking lot in Hampton Bays when they stopped to question him about a bench warrant. Police said the man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a misdemeanor.
