Southampton Police Log: DWI, Criminal Marijuana Possession
The following information was provided by the Southampton Town Police Department. An arrest is only an accusation and does not imply a conviction.
Southampton Town police reports for Riverside, Northampton and Flanders from Feb. 13 to Feb. 19.
Driving While Intoxicated
• German Hernandez, 28, of Hampton Bays, was arrested Feb. 18 at 1:30 a.m. in Flanders and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Hernandez was pulled over on Flanders Road for following too closely while speeding and failing to maintain his lane. He performed poorly on sobriety tests and failed a prescreen breath test, according to the arrest report. Hernandez was additionally charged with following too closely, unreasonable speed, driving without a license and moving from lane unsafely, all traffic infractions.

Marijuana Possession
• Angela M. Hoover, 26, of Flanders, was arrested Feb. 16 at 2:49 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Hoover was sitting in the front passenger seat of a 1997 Ford smoking marijuana in public view on Riverleigh Avenue in Riverside.

• Edwin A. Canel, 27, of Riverside, was arrested Feb. 16 at 2:49 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor. Police said he was smoking marijuana in public view.
