Southampton Police Log: DWI, Drugs, Illegal Dirt Bikes

Police reports from July 30 through August 6.

Editor’s Note: The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

DWI

• Andrya Czekus, 28, of Wading River, was charged with DWI on August 5 after police pulled her over for speeding on Springville Road in Hampton Bays.  Police say there was a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and she has slurred speech.

False Impersonation

• Police charged Aquilino Flores, 21 of Flanders with circumventing an interlock device and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a car on August 5. Police say they pulled Flores over for having no plate lamp. Flores was also charged with false impersonation. Police say Flores had no Id and gave a fake name of Victor Hernandez-Martinez, however, upon search, police say they found Flore’s Mexican ID card.

Drugs

• Police charged three Riverhead and one Southold resident with criminal possession of marijuana in the 5th degree on August 5. Police say the charges were filed after the residents were spotted parked in a car at the wildwood bowling alley smoking the drug.

Illegal Dirt Bike Operation

A Riverhead resident a and Rocky Point resident were charged with operating a dirt bike in the Woodrows Trail in Flanders on July 18. Police say the impounded the dirt bikes. 

Robbery

Police charged Rene Lopez, 35, of Flanders with Robbery in the 3rd degree, a felony. Police say Rene allegedly forcibly removed a cell phone and necklace from his wife on August 2.
