Southampton Police Log: Man Charged With Punching Pregnant Girlfriend In Stomach

Also, a reportedly homeless man charged with stealing purse from parked car.

Arrests by Southampton Town police in the Riverside and Flanders area during the week of June 3 to June 9:

Assault


• Antinio Aquino, 39, of Flanders, was arrested June 9 at 4:50 a.m. on East Street in Flanders and charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. According to an arrest report. Aquino got into a fight with one of his employees, and injured the employee's face and head. The report states that Aquino works as a contractor.

• A 40-year-old Flanders man was arrested June 9 at 2:24 a.m. and charged with third-degree assault and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Police said that while at his residence on Ludlam Avenue in Flanders, the man grabbed his girlfriend by the throat, threw her on a couch, grabbed her hair, and repeatedly punched her in the face. He then punched his girlfriend, who was 18 weeks pregnant, in the left side of her stomach. When located on East Main Street in Riverhead, he resisted arrest, according to the arrest report. Larceny

• Roshawn Childress, 32, who police said is homeless, was arrested June 2 at 3:02 p.m. on Flanders Road in Riverside and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. Police said that at 8 a.m. Childress took a purse containing $800 cash, a debit card and makeup from a parked car.
