Southampton Police: Riverhead Resident Had License Suspended 23 Times

Twenty-three year old faces felony charges.

Southampton police reported on Friday that a 23-year old Riverhead native - whose license police said had previously been suspended 23 times on 10 separate dates - was arrested early Friday morning on felony charges.

Michael Neary, 23, was pulled over for an alleged headlight violation soon after midnight driving eastbound on Flanders Road.

Once Neary was pulled over, police said it was determined that his license had been suspended nearly two dozen times. He also reportedly had two outstanding warrants, one a bench warrant for failure to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree. The other outstanding warrant was an arrest warrant on a charge of criminal contempt in the second degree.
