Southampton Police: Drunk Riverhead Driver Steals Quarters From Car

DWI
Neftali Castillo, 27, of Riverhead was arrested by Southampton Town Police Friday at 11:21 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Water Mill and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police responded to a call from gas station attendants saying that Castillo was drunk and about to leave the station. Police arrived and arrested Castillo, and also found that he had also stolen $10 in quarters from a gas station employee’s car.
Carlos Velasquez, 20, of Riverhead was arrested by Southampton Town Police Monday at 9:56 p.m. on the corner of Montauk Highway and Old Meeting House Road in Quiogue and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Velasquez was in an accident and tried to leave the scene when police found him to be intoxicated.

Possession of a Weapon
Noah McDermott, 23, of Flanders was arrested by Southampton Town Police Friday at 8:27 a.m. on the corner of Flanders Road and Cypress Avenue in Flanders and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. McDermott was stopped for a traffic violation when police saw that he had brass knuckles and a collapsible baton.
