Suspect Arrested, Charged With Alleged Second DWI

The following information was supplied by the TrRiverhead Town Police department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions.

Riverhead Town police arrested Fernando Rubi, 48 of Riverhead on April 25 at approximately 10:56 p.m. after he was stopped at Hallock Street and Roanoke Avenue for a defective passenger side headlight and for failure to maintain his lane. After further investigation Rubi was charged with DWI, an alleged second offense. Rubi was also charged with lane and equipment violations. Police seized Rubi's 1995 Chevy van under Suffolk County law. He was processed and held for arraignment

Riverhead Town Police arrested Rodolfo Paredes-Ajcuc, 19, at Stony Brook University Medical Center on April 29 at approximately 9:19 p.m.  on an alleged outstanding Riverhead Town police warrant. He was charged with DWI and driving wihtout a license as well as well as with a registration violation and vehicle registration suspension. He was transported to Riverhead Town police headquarters and held for arraignment.

Melvin A. Alverado-Ortega, 20, of Riverhead, was arrested at Kings Drive and Northville Turnpike on April 28 at approximately 3:48 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated. Police conducted a traffic stop for an improper left turn and for failure to maintain the lane and after investigation, arrested Alverado-Ortega and charged him with DWI, a turning violation and a lane violation.

Riverhead police reported on April 25 at approximately 8:48 p.m. that a Carls Place resident alleged an unknown person removed two statues and an extension ladder from a shed during the past month.

A Trout Brook Lane filed a report on April 25 at 4:31 p.m. alleging she was the victim of identity theft after an unknown person used her debit card to send $800 through Western Union to Europe.

Riverhead Town Police report on April 27 at approximately 12:43 p.m., a complaintant on Old Country Road alleged an unknown person accessed their debit card and stole over $1538.

A Wilson  Avenue resident filed a report with Riverhead Town Police on April 27 at approximately 2:20 p.m. and alleged an unknown person used their credit card in the amount of $843 without permission.

Riverhead Town Police report that on April 28 at approximately 9:11 p.m., unknown persons removed parts from a 2004 Yamaha dirt bike on Forge Road in Calverton.

An unknown person reportedly entered an East Main Street residents by cutting the rear western screen of an apartment and removed a Wii system, 5 games and 2 numchucks, at a value of $294, according to a Riverhead Town police report on April 30 at approximately 9:34 p.m.

A Kings Drive resident reported someone used their debit card in New York City to the tune of $530, according to a report by Riverhead Town police on May 1 at approximately 8:38 p.m.

A Wading River resident alleged that an unknown person entered their Red Fox Path residents through an unlocked door and took a GPS valued at $200, according to a report filed with Riverhead Town Police on May 1 at 1:18 p.m.
