Tanger Management On Robbery: 'Thankfully, Nobody Was Harmed'

Tanger management said they are working with the police in the ongoing investigation over a robbery at Aldo Wednesday.

The day after a Tanger employee was robbed by a man who forced his way into the store, tied her up, and stole her car, management said they are working with authorities.

"We are cooperating with the police in their investigation," Riverhead's Tanger Outlet Center general manager Janine Nebons said Thursday morning. "We will release information as it becomes available."

Nebons said staff is cooperating with authorities on the case. "Thankfully, nobody was harmed," she said.

She added that security is paramount at Tanger. "Public safety is our first priority," she said.

Riverhead Police said on Wednesday at 9:02 a.m., they responded to the Aldo shoe store, located at 1770 West Main Street, Suite 902, in the Riverhead Tanger Outlet Center.

According to police, the female victim, an employee at Aldo Shoes, reported that an unknown male forced his way into the business while she was opening the front door to the store. The man, police said, placed an unknown object to the back of the employee's head and forcibly removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the store.

The victim was then tied up, police said -- while the subject fled in her 2012 Hyundai Elantra, registration number FRR-4165.
