Town Police Log: Man Charged with Driving on Drugs with Child in Car

Endangering the Welfare of a Child
A 34-year-old Westhampton man faces a felony DWI charge after allegedly driving on drugs into the Riverside McDonald’s with his 3-year-old son on Nov. 23, police said.
Officers said they pulled over David Amorose at around 7 p.m. after receiving a call about a man falling asleep while driving into the fast food restaurant on Flanders Road. Police discovered that Amorose, who had his three-year-old son in the car, appeared to be under the influence of Xanax, according to a police report of the incident.

He was charged with aggravated DWI with a child, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child and driving while ability impaired by drugs, both misdemeanors.

Freddy Bautista, 31, of Flanders was arrested on Nov. 23 at 1:27 a.m. at the corner of Albany Street and Oak Avenue in Flanders and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. A passing driver called police about a man asleep in his car, police said. When officers responded they saw that Bautista appeared intoxicated, according to a police report.
Burglary
A 47-year-old man told police that sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. on Nov. 22 someone stole his silver Hewlett-Packard laptop worth $600 from his Flanders Road home. The victim said he saw that a 2 x 4 piece of wood that was screwed over the window was removed and rested in its original place, but was not bolted in, according to a police report. Officers said they are investigating.
