Town Police Log: Woman Trespasses Into Riverhead Home, Eats Ice Cream

The following information was supplied by the Riverhead Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

The Riverhead Town Police Department reports:

• A Middle Island man was arrested on Wednesday after police said he attempted to assault another man in family court. Nehemiah Johnson, 23, was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and obstruction of governmental administration, according to an arrest report. He was processed and held for arraignment.

• Police arrested a woman after she was found inside a Johns Lane home in Riverhead on the home owner's couch eating ice cream, police said. Aimee Fitzgerald was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal trespassing on Dec. 17 according to police. Fitzgerald was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center after she told police she needed medication for a medical condition. After she was evaluated and assisted, Fitzgerald was held on $200 bail, according to a police report.

• A woman was arrested at CVS on Dec. 17 and charged with harassment and petty larceny after she allegedly tried to steal perfume from the store and was involved in a physical altercation when a CVS employee confronted her. Dora Moore, 42, of Riverhead, reportedly stole four perfumes and lotions from the store by hiding them in her pocketbook, according to police. A CVS employee confronted her about the missing items and Moore reportedly began to fight the woman. She was arrested and charged with petty larceny and second-degree harassment once police arrived on the scene, according to a police report.

• A Jamesport woman told police that someone stole three rare coins worth $5,100 in total from her jewelry box on Dec. 19, according to a police report. The victim said an unknown person took three uncirculated American Eagle coins from her Second Street home. Police said they are still investigating.
