Town Police Log: Man Punched in Face at Laundromat

Man Punched in Face During Fight

A highly intoxicated Riverhead man was punched in the face during a brawl at Riverside Laundry on West Main Street on Nov. 20, police said. The man reported that he was struck by an unknown Hispanic man at about 4 p.m. who fled before police arrived, according to a police report of the incident.

The man was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center and treated for his injuries. No charges have been filed, police said.

Assault

A 16-year-old Riverhead boy was arrested on Nov. 19 and faces third-degree assault charges stemming from an incident at the Timothy Hill Children's Ranch on 11/18/11, according to a police report. The boy was processed and held to be arraigned on Monday, police said.

DWI

Leocadio Soc-Sian, 29, of Riverhead, was arrested on Nov. 19 and charged with aggravated DWI and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after police responded to a 911 call reporting loud music coming from his vehicle, police said. 

Police said they observed Soc-Sian failing to stay in his lane on Hamilton Avenue. Police pulled him over and arrested him after investigating for alcohol, according to a police report of the incident. Soc-Sian was processed and held for Monday arraignment, police said.

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property

Jason Priebe, 31, of Mastic, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property stemming from an incident on Nov. 13. Priebe was processed and held for arraignment, police said. 

Traffic Equipment Stolen

Three light towers were stolen from a repaving job near Route 25 sometime between Oct. 1 and Nov. 9, police said. Each tower is valued at $7,000, for a total of $21,000 worth of items stolen, according to a police report of the incident. Police said the Detective Division is currently investigating the alleged theft.

Attempted Break-In

An unknown suspect tried to break into the Meeting House Deli on Main Road in Aquebogue about 4 a.m. on Friday, police said. No items were reported stolen.
