Town Police Log: Obstructing Governmental Administration, DWI

Obstructing Governmental Administration
Carl Ligon, 34, of Calverton was arrested on Oct. 6 at 12:26 a.m. on County Road 94 in Riverhead and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor. Police said Ligon was sitting in the passenger side of a car that police stopped for a traffic violation when he refused to cooperate in the investigation. He resisted arrest, and police used pepper spray to apprehend him, according to a police report.

Douglas Masterson, 48, of St. Petersburg, Fla. was arrested on Monday, Oct. 3 at 12:35 a.m. at the corner of Pine Street and Old Quogue Road in Riverside and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they saw Masterson shut off his car lights, pull over on to the side of the road and onto the grass when they investigated and discovered he appeared intoxicated.

The manager of the Garden Deli on Flanders Road in Flanders told police his security cameras captured a man in dark shorts and hooded grey sweatshirt drawing graffiti on the deliโs property on Sept. 16 at around 11:54 p.m., according to a police report. Police took pictures of the scene and are making a copy of the video to investigate.
