Town Police Log: Obstructing Governmental Administration, Larceny

Obstructing Governmental Administration
John Finn, 48, of Riverside, was arrested Sept. 22 on Lake Avenue in Riverside and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. Police said they stopped Finn for a traffic violation when he drove away from where officers had pulled him over. Finn allegedly drove around the traffic circle until police pulled him over on Lake Avenue again, according to a police report.

A 45-year-old man from Riverside told Southampton Town Police that sometime between 9 and 11 p.m. on Sept. 25, someone stole a weed whacker and mountain bike, together worth $240, from the backyard of his Flanders Road house. The man told police he heard a large crash and then discovered the whacker and bike were missing. Police are investigating and assigned extra patrols to the area. Officers will also check local pawn shops for the missing items, according to a police report.
