A tractor trailer tipped over Saturday morning coming off the Long Island Expressway, sending the driver to the hospital and closing Route 25 for several hours.
According to Riverhead Police, the accident occurred around 7:10 a.m., and the driver was given multiple vehicle and traffic tickets, though police did not specify.
The accident occurred as the truck merged onto Route 25 eastbound.
The driver, according to police, was sent to Peconic Bay Medical Center and treated for a leg wound, though the injury was not considered serious.
