Police: Two Arrested in Mattituck for Marijuana Sales

The Southold Town Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s East End Drug Task Force (EEDTF) executed a search warrant for 195 Riley Avenue, Mattituck earlier Thursday afternoon after responding to numerous complaints from neighbors about suspicious activity and frequent visitors to the house.

After three months of surveillance the house and an investigation into potential marijuana sales, the arrest was executed at 2:08 p.m. 

Colegedo Mokus, 18, of Mattituck and Nigel N. Ortiz, 21, of Selden, were each charged with felony Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 3rd Degree.

The search warrant was carried out with the assistance of the Suffolk County Police Emergency Services Unit and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit.

The successful arrest was the result of the complementary execution of investigation and surveillance by the East End Drug Task Force—a multi-jurisdictional drug enforcement unit funded by the office of the Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota.

The multi-jurisdictional team includes detectives, police officers, and law enforcement personnel from the New York State Police, the Suffolk Country Police Department, , District Attorney Detective-Investigators, Suffolk Country Department of Probation, Riverhead Police Department, Southampton Village Police Department, East Hampton Village Police Department, Southampton Town Police Department, Southold Police Department, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Department of Homeland Security.
