Village Police Log: Woman Altered Oxy Prescription

Also among the week's arrests in Southampton Village, a Commack woman is picked up on a warrant for issuing a bad check.

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions.

Southampton Village arrest reports from Oct. 9 to 15:

Forged Instrument

• Linda L. Curry, 69, of Southampton was arrested Oct. 12 at 7:13 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a felony. Police said Curry altered a prescription for Oxycodone in which she doubled the strength and increased the amount by more than 130 pills. At arraignment, she was ordered held at the Suffolk County Jail in Riverside in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Mischief, Possession of Stolen Property

• A 16-year-old Southampton boy was arrested Oct. 10 at 6:29 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, both misdemeanors.  Police said the 16-year-old stole a bicycle and defaced it. He was released to his parents after posting $200 bail.

Petty Larceny, Bounced Check

• Noreen S. Siegel, 60, of Commack, was arrested Oct. 13 at 10:58 a.m. on an arrest warrant for petty larceny and issuing a bad check, both misdemeanors.

That woman obviously needs rehab not Jail.. She is 69 years old for God's Sake. Put her in rehab.
