Wading River Man Charged With Speeding, Having Prescription Meds With No Script

Police say the man was stopped for speeding.

A Wading River man was arrested in Flanders Saturday and charged with speeding and possession of prescription drugs, without a prescription.

According to Southampton Town Police, Wading River resident James Costello, 46, was stopped for speeding on Saturday at 9:57 a.m. on Flanders Road in Flanders.

Police say Costello was found to be in possession of prescription medication without a prescription. Costello was transported to the Southampton Town Police headquarters for arrest processing and charged with speeding, a violation, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.

Costello was released on an appearance ticket for a future court date in Southampton Town Justice Court.
