5 Resolutions from Tuesday's Town Board Meeting

On a night when the Town Board passed nearly 40 resolutions, here are the top 5 that the Board approved.

1. The Town Board authorized a notice for a Tuesday, Nov. 1 public hearing on the for the town. The hearing will be held at 2:10 p.m. and will include specific items about the town's elected official's salaries.

2. The town also authorized an agreement with a construction company to build a pedestrian walkway across Peconic Avenue near the traffic circle. The crosswalk, to be built near , will be funded by a grant from Suffolk County's Downtown Beautification and Renewal Capital program. Designs were authorized to cost no more than $9,500.

3. Riverhead Town has settled with the Suffolk County Department of Health over five alleged violations found during an inspection of a municipal garage. After providing documents to the department, the town will pay $500 to settle the case in lieu of a formal hearing.

4. A budget for capital improvements to the was approved by the Town Board. The resolution authorizes $90,000 to be spent from a $100,000 grant from Suffolk County's Department of Economic Development out of their downtown revitalization and beautification fund.

5. The Town Board authorized money to produce two books, "We Will Not Forget: Riverhead's Civil War Soldiers and Sailors" and "Riverhead Town Supervisors: 1792-2010," both compiled by Town Historian Georgette Case.
