All Riverhead Town Water Safe To Drink

County health department concerns involve mobile home parks.

The Riverhead Water Authority has declared that all town water is safe to drink.

"We are aware that the residents of the Town of Riverhead are concerned about the quality of their water following tropical storm Sandy’s pass through Long Island," the water authority said in a release Wednesday morning.

“The Riverhead Water District’s water meets all federal, state and county requirements for potable water,” Gary Pendzick, Superintendent of the Water District, said. He added that residents should rest assured that the water district’s system is fully functional and that the water is safe to drink.
