Recognizing the craft beer and wine industry in New York state as a growing industry with room for more potential, a bill proposed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday would continue a new 'farm brewery' license for up and coming brewers, and also lift mandates burdening vineyard owners.
According to a Newsday article, a "made in New York" designation is proposed for specific beers brewed with a set amount of New York-grown ingredients.
"This legislation will give our state's growing craft beer industry the tools needed to create jobs, promote agriculture and encourage environmentally friendly economic development," the governor said.
