Do You Think Riverhead Shoulders More Than Its Fair Share?

After rumors proliferated this week about a possible methadone clinic that could be opening on East Main Street in downtown Riverhead, many residents expressed concerns.

Although the rumors regarding a methadone clinic , some feel Riverhead Town is burdened with more than its fair share of social service institutions  -- having to shoulder the weight of an already existing methadone clinic, counseling centers,  and an abundance of low-rental or Section 8 housing units, as well as the homeless sex offender trailers in Riverside. 

Others feel Riverhead is a haven for those in need -- and the social service institutions are critically needed and well-situated.
