Community Garden Ribbon Cutting

The River and Roots Community Garden was originally created and planned by Amy Davidson and Laurie Nigro. The garden became a reality within a year’s time and will officially open with a ribbon cutting ceremony to take place on Friday, June 24 at 3:00 p.m.  

A portion of the children’s garden will be dedicated in memory of the late Dr. John Goldman.  A new, young fig tree and a monument, previously inscribed by Dr. Goldman’s family, will be recognized and dedicated to the noted Riverhead resident and child psychologist. This portion of the garden will be called the “Dr. John Goldman’s Children Garden.”
