Holiday Fun: 13th Annual Bonfire Saturday On Riverfront

Santa will visit Riverhead by boat.

A beloved holiday tradition is set to take place on Saturday in downtown Riverhead.

The 13th Annual Bonfire and Holiday Celebration takes place on the Peconic Riverfront from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

According to Riverhead Town Councilman Jim Wooten, the event, which takes place behind the old Sears building, features candy canes, cookies, a gingerbread house, holiday photos, music -- and Santa's arrival by boat at 5 pm.

Members of Riverhead's Business Improvement District will be onhand, Wooten said; the event is free.

"Come on down and get involved with the festivities," Wooten said.

Lisa - is there any way to post on the main page? That would be a big help. Thank you.
