Krupski, Walter to Debate for County Seat Monday at Martha Clara

Candidates set to jostle the issues at 6 p.m. at Riverhead winery.

Are you undecided about who you'd like to see represent Riverhead and the North Fork on the Suffolk County Legislature?

Head to Martha Clara Vineyards Monday at 6 p.m. to see Southold Town Councilman Al Krupski and Riverhead Supervisor Sean Walter make their pitches as to why they'd be the right candidate to replace longtime county representative Ed Romaine, who won the race for Brookhaven Town Supervisor last November.

With his eight years of experience on the Southold Town Board and a lifetime of farming on the North Fork, Krupski said he believes he’s seasoned enough to spread his wings and get things done at the county level.

Walter, who is running on the Republican and Conservative tickets, touted his experience as Riverhead's supervisor, as opposed to "someone who just sits as a town board member. Being the CEO of a town, as much as anyone really can be, is a different task."

The debate is sponsored by the Times/Review Newsgroup and will be moderated by executive editor Grant Parpan.

A special election will take place Jan. 15.

Who do you want to see elected? Take our poll here.

"Walter, touted his experience as Riverhead's supervisor, as opposed to "someone who just sits as a town board member…" And the Town Board does nothing to add to the legislative and governing process? How egotistical can a supervisor be and still get his head through a doorway. Sean, come on if you can do it how tough can it really be?
