Group spoke before the Suffolk County Legislature on Monday.

Sometimes, it takes a village. Or a county.

Youth advocates aiming to rehabilite Suffolk County's young inmate population and reduce recidivisim at county correctional facilities spoke before the human services committee of the Suffolk County Legislature on Monday.

Included in the group were Thaddaeus Hill, executive director of the of Riverhead, Suffolk County Sheriff Vincent F. DeMarco, James Murdocco, senior supervisor of Hope House Ministries in Port Jefferson, andย Fr. Francis Pizzarelli, founder and executive director of Hope House Ministries.

Those present highlighted work being done by the sheriffโ€™s youth reentry task force to rehabilitate young inmates and reduce recidivism in the future.
