Question of the Day: Were You Rootin' For Wooten?

Councilman Jim Wooten didn't have the support in his party to seek the supervisor nomination. But how does the public feel?

Councilman Jim Wooten announced on Saturday morning that at next week's committee meeting, as opposed to the in April.

In an interview following his announcement, Wooten said that after speaking with members of the town Republican Committee — roughly 40 of whom vote on the party's nominees — he didn't have the support to take the nomination from incumbent Supervisor Sean Walter. He admitted, however, to having more support than he thought would get.

"If there was more support," he said, "it would have been a whole different campaign."
