Readers On Political Signs: 'Take Them Down Today'

Some wanted the signs gone by yesterday.

Many people have been upset about the number of campaign signs that have remained up after elections conclude, stating that it is the equivalent of litter.

Now that Election Day is over, what do you think is a reasonable time frame for all the political campaign camps to start cleaning up those yard and pole signs used in the campaign? One week? 48 hours?

We asked Patch readers to chime in the question and here's a few of the responses:

James Warner now would be good!!

Chris Mcalister Immediately. And for the record , placing signs on county and state land should come with a large fine

Barbara L. Bornstein As a volunteer who helps clean 3 adopted roads, I say TODAY. And, we should be eligible to collect rewards from Town for turning in the litterers.

Joan Kozlik Schneider Yesterday!

Wendy Poole the NEXT DAY

Chris Kohnken Tomorrow morning

Greg Gdaddyhotrod Rodriguez Heck I would collect them and repurpose them. A lot of the time the lettering will come off with a blowdryer used as a heat gun.

Laura Saulle Schmelzer They should clean it up right away. They should have a reasonable time to take them down, if after a certain date, fine them for each sign that has to be removed. Feel the same about the yard sale signs that are up for months.

John Guerin They should be out cleaning them up today and I mean the candidates them selves !!!

Subi Chockalinga Before Christmas would be great! Why not start now

We want to know what you think is a good time frame to get the signs taken down. Click here to access our Soapbox - Gov't Matters blog or tell us in the comments section below.
