What Do You Want for EPCAL? Town Plan Set for Public Hearing

Town proposes industrial park-type future for Calverton property.

Yes, we know this question has been asked again, and again, and again: What in the world should officials do with the Enterprise Park at Calverton? At one point, an indoor ski mountain seemed the only way to go, yet Hurricane Sandy saw the site ending up as more as a dump for storm-destroyed cars.

The town has a new plan, though, laid out in its recently published generic environmental impact statement: carve it up into lots.

The plan, which will be debated in public on July 16, 7:30 p.m., at Town Hall, calls for development in stages over decades, and highlights an intermodal hub, mixed-use, food processing businesses and green technology centers as possibilities for the area.
