It’s Time For A New Direction

Put your party affiliation aside for a second and consider some serious questions before casting your ballot this November.

Put your party affiliation aside for a second and consider these following questions:

  • Would you vote for an incumbent Congressman (Tim Bishop) who has repeatedly voted to increase taxes, spending and debt by trillions of dollars?
  • Would you vote for an incumbent Congressman (Tim Bishop) who has been in Washington for ten years while the number of unemployed Long Islanders has risen by over 40,000?
  • Would you vote for an incumbent Congressman (Tim Bishop) who was a leading proponent of Obamacare and slashing Medicare by more than $700 billion?
  • Would you vote for an incumbent Congressman (Tim Bishop) who was recently named 1 of the 12 most corrupt politicians in Washington by an independent watchdog group?

After nearly a decade in Washington, it’s clear that Tim Bishop has failed to make things better for Long Island’s families and businesses, and for the country as a whole.

His record of higher taxes, record unemployment and big government is bad enough to warrant a change. But, the fact that he has abused his power and the system to line his pockets, at the expense of struggling Long Islanders is inexcusable and disgraceful.

It’s time for a new direction in Suffolk County.

I am running to use my experience in the business word to clean up the mess in Washington, restore fiscal responsibility and fix the economy.  That’s why I am proposing a specific, 10-point plan for Long Island that will create local jobs, boost small businesses and grow our economy. You can read all the details at www.LIJobsPlan.com

While a desperate Tim Bishop dishonestly attacks my record in business, the truth is that even President Obama’s Administration has praised my company, CloudBlue, for creating hundreds of American green jobs.

Career politicians in both parties, like Tim Bishop, have created the economic and fiscal problems we’re facing today.  Why would we ever trust them to solve them?  It doesn’t make any sense.

As a self-made businessman who came from modest roots to build two companies from the ground up and create 1,000 American jobs, I know how to get things done.  With your vote on November 6th, I will work across party lines to move Long Island and our country forward into a brighter future.
Thank you.

"Frankly I don't give a damn what the two Johns think..." Oh, but I think you do. I think what I have to say actually bothers you...
John Gruber October 12, 2012 at 01:20 AM
I don't know about you but I stand by everything I say, don't get upset when other people have valid points that contradict what you think. nothing "clever"really needs to be said, I don't agree with what you think, doesn't mean I insult every republican "boot licker". there are plenty of people who can have civil conversations without insulting entire groups of people, by the way...

If you want proof who has helped destroy Long Island these past 10 years look no further than Tim Bishop. Another greedy union along with the teachers union that has forced the productive and educated middle class off of Long Island: http://www.newsday.com/long-island/suffolk/suffolk-cop-unions-back-rep-tim-bishop-in-race-1.4131135

"outsourcing" present participle of out·source (Verb) Verb 1.Obtain (goods or a service) from an outside supplier, esp. in place of an internal source. 2.Contract (work) out. You outsource your trash collection to your trash compaany and your childrearing to a babysitter when you go out. How stupis is HIGH HAT? Does not even know the definition of the word. Mr.HIgh Hat is LOW BRAIN. There are places where you can look things up, dummy. Like a dictionary. DUH! "offshoring" present participle of off·shore Verb Move (some of a company's processes or services) overseas, esp. in order to take advantage of lower costs. There were never 10,000 at Office Tiger. Only 4,000 employees when it was sold. Look up it up in RR Donnelly the company that bought it.. Most of those jobs were CREATED overseas, not shipped from here. Gosh - the people on this blog are so dumb. Juts 'cause you keep saying it over and over doesn't make it so. And almost EVERY major company in the US creates job over seas. Just look it up or look at the labels on your clothes! So sick of the ingorance on these blogs.

But it's OK to kill them before they are born, or even almost born, when they have done nothing wrong? How can democrats associate with people like that? Never kill anyone, anytime. How about that?
Rose Avila October 21, 2012 at 04:53 PM
That unborn child is NOT her body. It is its own body. It just resides in her body, until it is born. Your logic would allow this woman to kill the child anytime, even after it is born since it is part of her body. When a murderer kills a pregnant woman they get two counts of murder - why?
John Gruber October 21, 2012 at 05:45 PM
no, but the fertilized embryo IS her body and SHE should decide if she wants to keep the embryo or not. If YOU think it's a child, don't get an abortion, but don't force people to see things the way you do. Also, not everyone who kills a pregnant women gets 2 counts of murder. And, people have no right telling women what to do concerning rape. "never kill anyone anytime" you do know republicans support the death penalty right?

Strange that you provide a definition for "outsource" when that word was never used in the post to which you are replying but the definition is quite useful to anyone who comprehends what they read. "1.Obtain (goods or a service) from an outside supplier, esp. in place of an internal source." Let me walk you through this with an illustration that may be all or partially factual: Company OTC (Office Tiger Client) has a thousand workers (INTERNAL SOURCE) in their call center in say, Riverhead New York. OTC's total cost to run this operation is $100,000,000 per year. A consultant from Office Tiger convinces OTC that Office Tiger (OUTSIDE SUPPLIER) can perform that SERVICE to OTC for $50,000,000 and a deal is signed. Now OTC needs only two people to act as liaison to the Tiger operation and 998 people are fired. OTC stock price jumps and upper management gets huge bonuses. Office Tiger is provided office space within OTC for eighteen IT professionals. Net job loss in Riverhead NY is 980 jobs. Tiger opens an office in Mumbai, India hiring 1500 local people at prevailing wage to perform the call center activity (the SERVICE). This costs Tiger $30,000,000 reaping them a profit of $20,000,000 a year. Tiger boasts of creating 1518 new jobs including eighteen in New York. 980 new people collect unemployment in New York. Do you see anything wrong with this scenario at all?
Underdog October 21, 2012 at 06:05 PM
"What a woman prefers to do with her body is between her and God." So I guess then you believe suicide should unconditionally legal? After all, it's something that a person is choosing to do with their own body. And how can a fertilized embryo be considered to be solely a part of a woman's body when it's the product of a cell from each of the mother and the father?

Robkoz, Aside from preventing republican obstructionism, Mr. Bishop has directly assisted a few or people I know personally with standard congressman kind of stuff. The kind of stuff I could not imagine Randy doing for any of us, it would be beneath him, being a half-billionaire and all. Us poor people have to stop voting in the wealthy, you have to ask yourself, what's in it for them, power? Why hire people that are so power-hungry? Ask yourself, what would you do if you had $400 million in the bank? I don't know about you, but working for a living isn't what I'd be doing. What kind of psychopath has that kind of money and wants a shitty little congressional seat?
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 02:44 AM
Dear Susan F... Just because a guy is a businessman does not make him qualified to add 'jobs' to this area, especially if his successful business had a direct hand in decimating the US workforce with his actions. I agree that the government should make it harder for companies to outsource, and it would have to apply evenly to all domestic corporations.
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 02:56 AM
Dear ARice - don't kid yourself that a local congressman can do anything like all of those bullet points Randy touts. His only reason for running is to continue the republican-led gridlock, and to enrich himself with political power. What else is left to do for an unemployed guy with a few hundred million in the bank? And I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the jobs figure conspiracy theories have been debunked already, unless of course if you watch Fox News. The numbers will be even lower in the next report.
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 03:03 AM
Robkoz, that article is hilarious, blaming Obama and bishop for stimulus that everybody signed.
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 03:08 AM
Obamacare is cost-neutral. Gas prices are controlled by commodities markets pricing. Remember when it first reached $4? GW was in office. That idea about requiring to get insurance was a strictly republican idea, as we're many of the other parts of obamacare.
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 03:33 AM
LOL - Another conspiracy theory. For being 'dumb' liberals, you guys sure do give us a lot of credit. Don't forget the (now be bunked) BLS conspiracy, and the Polls conspiracy (at least until Romney caught up)...
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 03:36 AM
@kevin Ryan - I know all of these idiots forget they're part of the 47% that will be all but forgotten under republicon leadership.
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 03:46 AM
Cam Pesh, thank you for that insight, my feelings exactly. I only hope more people view it the same way. I personally know a few people that have been helped by Bishop's office, he's a good, low-key guy that's not on a power trip.
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 04:02 AM
ARice, you failed to comprehend the simple concepts of a movie/book made for 5th-graders.
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 04:09 AM
Barbara, you have to stop watching watching only Fox News. Obamacare is largely a copy of Romneycare, and it's a success. Not only that, it's better than Romneycare in a few points such as child coverage until 26, of which I know 3 families that are being helped by that provision. Kids that wouldn't have coverage otherwise.
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 04:23 AM
I'm starting to wonder if these people (jag, preliator, scs, rice) are all the same person, Randy's personal buddies., Or Randy himself. Who else would give a piddling crap about (and stick up for) a whiny, power-hungry 1/2 billionaire? Either that, or complete morons that are typical of people that vote against their self-interests.
NuYawker October 22, 2012 at 04:31 AM
You republicons are a laugh-riot, get your rants straight. One kook (rice) complains that our school system puts out uneducated, unemployable people, and the other schlub (robkoz) says we put too much money into teachers and schools. Which one is it then?
highhatsize October 22, 2012 at 05:49 AM
to Rose Avila: "CHENNAI: OfficeTiger plans to increase its headcount by 25% to 12,500 people over the next 18 months. The move follows acquisition of the company by RR Donnelley and the merger of Astron BPO. OfficeTiger also plans to take up additional space in Chennai, where it has over 3,500 people." * "OfficeTiger now has operations in 29 delivery centres and 42 client locations across 9 countries. It has seven centres in India, employing 4,000 people, three in Sri Lanka (1,000 employees), one in the Philippines (300), 13 in Europe (4,000), and five in the US (750)." * Not so stupis as to confuse outsourcing NOS with international outsourcing. The "ingorance on these blogs" that makes you sick flows from your own keyboard. * The Economic Times (The Times of India), September 1, 2006.

Obviously from reading your posts after all the money put into education it hasn't benefited you one bit. Maybe you should start with a GED?
Argile October 22, 2012 at 07:19 AM
Bush started the war all by himself? Wow. That sounds like a dictator. But in real life if you review history Bush had bipartisan support. Hmmm, must have had something to do with 9-11-2001....
Jaguar-Guy October 22, 2012 at 11:31 AM
Hey John M. John, what likely voter is looking at websites. John Q. Public watches TV, and that is why they run ad after ad after ad. Tim Bishop ONLY runs negative ads and STILL has not run ONE SINGLE POSITVE AD touting anything he has accomplished. He has run a terrible campaign and should have fired his campaign staff long ago for their obvious failings. I mean, he's been in office 10 years - run an ad telling us why to re-elect you you tubby bearded wind-bag.
Jaguar-Guy October 22, 2012 at 11:33 AM
Can I get an AMEN for Gary Johnson there a/k/a John Gruber ??!!
Jaguar-Guy October 22, 2012 at 11:35 AM
Wow John G. - good point. What about ALL the frozen embryos that exist ???
Jaguar-Guy October 22, 2012 at 11:36 AM
When is TIm Bishop going to run his FIRST ad touting any accomplishment he can claim ??? The answer is - when Hell freezes over. He will NEVER run a positive ad because he cannot.
Jaguar-Guy October 22, 2012 at 12:51 PM
Yes, from your Moniker nobody could tell which way you lean. And, just FYI - I have not ranted. I have simply asked why our 5-time Congressman cannot run one positive ad on TV ??
Preliator October 22, 2012 at 04:39 PM
Save Tim Bishop the embarrassment of a House investigation of his unethical and felonious shakedown of a constituent. Let him leave Washington with his head high and some dignity; do you really want to see Tim Bishop in handcuffs being lead out by police.
