'The Lie of the Year'

Medi-Scare attacks are beginning. Don't believe the mistruths.

As news spreads about Congressman Bishop recently being named 1 of the 12 most corrupt Members of Congress by a leading, independent watchdog group, Bishop’s campaign is predictably getting more and more desperate with their personal attacks against me.  In short, he’s just going to make things up and hope to fool you.

Unfortunately, that is what career politicians like Tim Bishop do when they see their grip on power beginning to slip away.

This week, for instance, Congressman Bishop dishonestly accused me of wanting to end Medicare – a false claim meant to score political points by trying to scare senior citizens.

In fact, an independent fact-checking group called the claim, parroted by many Democrats, “The Lie of the Year.”

The truth is that I will always fight to protect and preserve Medicare.  Not just for today’s seniors, but for future generations, a well. I will work with common sense people in both parties to ensure that Medicare is secure and solvent for years to come if I am elected this November.

Congressman Bishop, on the other hand, is the only candidate in this race who has voted to cut Medicare. In fact, Bishop slashed $700 billion from Medicare to pay for the big government takeover of our healthcare system pushed through by him, President Obama and Nancy Pelosi.  You may know it as Obamacare.

Obamacare will raise taxes on the middle-class and seniors; it will cost Long Island more jobs that we can’t afford to lose; and it will take important medical decisions out of the hands of doctors and patients, and put them in the hands of Washington, DC bureaucrats.  In short, Obamacare is bad for Long Island.

These “Medi-Scare” attacks are just the beginning of the Bishop campaigns’ month-long smear campaign to come.  As my campaign continues to surge, I fully expect Congressman Bishop to say or do anything he thinks could get him re-elected.

Fortunately, I trust the people of Suffolk County to do their own homework and not be fooled by his dishonest claims or irresponsible attacks.  If you read or hear something that doesn’t sound quite right, never hesitate to call my Campaign Headquarters at 631-775-9230 or email me at info@randy2012.com.

Thank you for your time.

how can you complain that Bishop outsources jobs when Randy helped found a company purely used for outsourcing jobs? Also, how do you suppose Bishop raised tuitions on public colleges, let alone private ones? I couldn't care less about either of them, I'm just REALLY interested in your response
Underdog October 3, 2012 at 11:31 pm
You don't get it do you John? The rap against Altschuler, as promulgated by Bishop and the likes of highhat, has been that he's unsuitable for office because the company he started outsourced some jobs. Meanwhile Bishop, through his support of Administration bills, has shown he's also responsible for jobs being outsourced to other countries - including our "bestest buddies", the People's Republic of China. The point is, either they're both equally usuitable or the outsourcing shouldn't be an issue against Altschuler.
Now along will call highhat to explain that Altschuler is an "avaricious, predatory, disloyal psychopath" because he was a private citizen who outsourced jobs - apparently he expects more from private citizens than he does his choice of elected officials. Personally I prefer to hold my elected officials to the higher standard.
Laura Jean October 3, 2012 at 11:33 pm
I would just like to point out that Ms. Pelosi became speaker after the 2006 mid-terms. No matter how you do the math, that was only 6 years ago. And how would you expect Mr. Bishop to vote? He's a Northern Liberal Democrat, elected by like minded people to represent them. It's not as though his constituents haven't contacted him about their wishes on any number of legislative votes--I have.
And please, when making accusations about bribes and payoffs, please source the criminal trials and convictions, not the campaign hyperbole. There really isn't any reason to attack the people posting because they disagree with you--that just means you've lost the argument.

Let's hear less desperate blogs to swing voters and more "facts" with references. For instance, we know the Altschuler is using the Southern Campaign - the tactic of lying throughout his candidacy and then saying his opponent is lying just weeks before the election.
Altschuler is new at this and following the hate doctrine of the Republican Party. Sad, but true. Randy lied all the way through his first campaign and this year's attempts are much worse. He has no shame and no pride. Randy's friends in an interview you can Google, said "Randy will do anything to get what he wants". I assume that means that Randy has no scruples or values. Certainly not the kind of values we want our children witnessing or copying. Smear campaigns, such as those being currently run by Altschuler (repeating the mistakes of his first campaign), will not fool Long Islanders, who know Randy is from NJ and who know he moved here to win a political campaign. First he was running for Suffolk County Executive (with NO EXPERIENCE...imagine that?). Why not run for CEO of Chrysler...it takes the same set of b*lls, I thought. Then he changed his mind, withdrew from the County Exec race to run for Congress...even LESS EXPERIENCE, I thought...that's a dumber move but, as we found out, Randy does have b*lls after all...he pursued his dream AND LOST. Next Randy found a remote story, cranked up the rhetoric, lying with every word. Prest-o, change-o...guess what...your're still a liar.

Fred n Freeda and Laura Jean - same people too. Amazing how you do get around.
Gramps Pupany October 3, 2012 at 11:55 pm
Spookie, Jag...they're surrounding you...Happy Halloween! Boooooooooo...
Laura Jean October 3, 2012 at 11:57 pm
Hardly, Jag. You do seem to be incapable of comprehending that you have neighbors that disagree with you.
Jaguar-Guy October 3, 2012 at 11:59 pm
Randy was paying cents and hour. WHAT AMERICAN WOULD WORK AT THAT WAGE. The answer - NONE. No jobs were outsourced since no american would work for that wage. That is the same argument for immigration amnesty - they work cheaper and harder jobs than americans are willing to do, so they should stay. Well, if Randy was paying .13 cents an hour, nobody in the US would work for him - ergo, no jobs lost. You ALL lose your stupid argument. Meanwhile - Tim Bishop voted with Pelosi and Obama's Stimulus Act and that outsourced BILLIONS of US tax dollars abroad, and tens of thousands of jobs were created for China, Mexico and Finland. Great going Bishop. Why not try running ONE AD that says what you've done for LI'ers - You cannot because you've got the WORST record to run on, so all you do is run ad after ad that Randy is bad. Well, boo-hoo for you come November when your fat, bribe-taking millionaire butt is out of office.
Tony G October 4, 2012 at 12:01 am
Laura Jean, "Bishop was elected by like minded people (liberal Democrats)" is simply not true. Us East Enders elected him because we thought he was the right local guy for the job and as it turned out, we were wrong. Simple as that. We've learned our lesson and will vote differently in November.
Jaguar-Guy October 4, 2012 at 12:01 am
No - it is that your writing style is so over-whelmingly repetitive. But, good going at your Bishop staff job. Keep ghosting those blogs for Timmy - we all have to eat. Be good.
Jaguar-Guy October 4, 2012 at 12:09 am
Ah, bye bye - another nom de plume. Again, they don't pay you enough at Bishop's office.
Underdog October 4, 2012 at 12:09 am
Laszlo,
I would LOVE to hear that both sides were taking that long, hard look and admit that those "sacred cows" need to be addressed, but Medicare and Social Security are the proverbial "3rd Rail" of American politics - just look at the heat Ryan has gotten for stating the obvious that Social Security can not survive as is. You also can't consider Defense an entitlement program and with very few exceptions intel programs aren't funded under the Defense budget. Don't automatically turn your nose up at tying budgets to the GDP, at least then spending increases can't go up more than earnings, and if earnings go down then spending has to too. If you get the percentages adjusted to reasonable levels it's possibly not such a bad idea.
Bye Bye Romney October 4, 2012 at 12:15 am
Randy's workers were paid 13-cents per hour...any wonder he sold Americans up the river as Randy pocketed a portion of the cost savings.
How did you get paid Randy? Tell us. You said you were "proud". Tell us, Randy. When you found a 13-cents per hour phone worker in India, did you keep part of the wages you saved the company who hired you, your worker and then fired the American who was making minimum wager or maybe a little more? Was it a young American father making minimum wage, trying to support his young family with a job on an American phone bank? What was your take? $2/hour while his company saved $6/hour after they fired him and hired your 13-cents per hour man in India? What was your incentive, Randy, for taking the jobs of American families? For taking their income, THEIR pride and their livelihoods? The ones who lost their homes, the ones who lost their retirement savings and healthcare coverage? And now you want to get rid of ObamaCare, too? Ruthless aren't you? Any wonder Republicans like you have no respect for a woman who has been raped.? Didn't you take her father's job, pride, income and home? Didn't you sell the future of Americans on Long Island to an Indian making 13-cents per hour? How does Randy Altschuler look at himself in the mirror? When you see Randy's face or name driving to the polls on November 6th, remember his history taking jobs from Americans. Randy's signs were paid for with American jobs.

Bishop has been in Too Long, I Won't vote for a Career Politician. This Independent will give Altschuler a Chance. If He Screws It Up, He's Outta Here Too.
Underdog October 4, 2012 at 12:28 am
No Jag, he'll be along eventually. Knowing him he'll inflate the number of jobs Altschuler supposedly outsourced even higher while finding a way to deny Obama/Bishop outsourced anything.
Tony G October 4, 2012 at 12:35 am
Rick, my guess is that 80% of Bishops past supporters are with you, including me. We're ready for some change, change you can believe in!!! Oh wait, sorry, I meant change we can make happen!!! The East End locals have seen enough and will make that change happen in November. I can darn near guarantee it.......
Tony G October 4, 2012 at 12:38 am
I should have added: Are you in??? What a crap slogan.... The followers will buy it though.
Preliator October 4, 2012 at 12:50 am
The facts are this:
Tim Bishop is a corrupt Congressman who has abused his elected office for his own gain and the direct financial benefit of a family member. Tim Bishop destroyed Southampton College while ensuring his family profited. Tim Bishop has had his time and Congress and failed Long Island. The time has come for real change, for a new direction and the man for that job is Randy Altschuler. Randy has the ideas, the beliefs and the experience to help move this country forward and help drag the nation out of the muck it has been stuck in for the past four years. Tim Bishop is the past, a past we have to escape to embrace a brighter future for all Americans and Randy Altschuler is the man for that job.
Meadow Lane October 4, 2012 at 12:56 am
Preliator's "facts" are Randy's "fiction"...keep praying, boys. But please stop lying about our honorable Congressman...he has not been accused by anyone except his political rival and his loose cannon supporters.

Bush surpassed that. He's a war criminal.Desmond Tutu and others would like to have Bush and Cheney tried. Meanwhile our valiant Iraq Vets need quite a bit of help from the VA.50% are so severely wounded they are filing for disability. The Republicans in the House want to gut the VA budget by 11 billion dollars. Quite a way to show gratitude to our returning Vets.
North Fork Bob October 4, 2012 at 02:02 am
Also the Republicans in the House voted to maintain the obscene subsidies to the oil companies and reduce food stamps by 90.00 for every family. Each Congressional family should be made to eat that food stamp allotment for one month. What's the use they'd all cheat. They do that so well.
North Fork Bob October 4, 2012 at 02:11 am
It was Randy's plan to outsource with his buddy from College. Not too many would have the gaul and avarice that Randy had.I consider what he did to be treason. To take 10,000 white collar American jobs and ship them to India is just awful. If he'd treat those Americans that way how would he treat you? Just like you don't exist
highhatsize October 4, 2012 at 02:21 am
to Underdog:
Actually, Altschuler annihilated 12,500 American jobs though outsourcing.* The charge that Obama outsourced jobs is false. An outsourced job is one that was, or could potentially be, held by an American locally. No such jobs were destroyed by the Stimulus. It might be "efficient" for businesses to outsource American clerical jobs but it is disloyal to facilitate that procedure. Altschuler chose to do this as the SOLE SOURCE of his income. It wasn't like it was a necessary corollary to his principle business that otherwise employed lots of Americans. He could have JUST SAID "NO" rather than be the instrument of extermination of his countrymen's livelihoods. * http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2006-09-01/news/27454246_1_officetiger-astron-bpo-rr-donnelley

to Jaguar-Guy:
The jobs for which Altschuler found Indians to work at 13 cents/hr. (your figure, incidentally, not mine) would be $$10/hr. locally. There is no American job, yours included, that cannot be performed cheaper and as well by foreigners if we enable them. Those people willing to throw the "actors and poets" (as Randy derisively termed the clerical workers whose jobs he destroyed) to the wolves are the same ones who would be outraged if the government didn't protect their own cozy establishments.
North Fork Bob October 4, 2012 at 02:27 am
Speaking of pawns how do you think Randy would vote if he won?Led by the tea party and Koch brothers Randy would do what he was told and speak only when spoken to. Unless he thought that someone might advance his career. He'd grovel with the best of them.Since he doesn't know the people in his district we'll be ignored. We don't count

Underdog you hold your politicians to a higher standard? Like Bush and Chaney that may be tried as war criminals. They started an illegal and immoral war which cost countless lives and about a trillion dollars which they ran off budget. The economy that they trashed with a banking system they imploded. With the help of such stellar individuals as Bachmann,Akin,Cantor and others.Keep deluding yourself.Denial can be comforting.
Preliator October 4, 2012 at 05:37 pm
Tim Bishop is done, he is a lair and a crook! We need change and we need new direction and the man to do that is Randy Altschuler.

Nicely put, Lee. NO PRESIDENT can effectively work for the people if congress, etc. don't work with him/her. They are all corrupt and will only work with the president of their own party. It's all stupid and immature. Time to change how we run the government alltogether. Get rid of party lines already. If congress doesnt pass the budget THEY SHOULDNT GET PAID. Cut spending by NOT giving lifetime medical benefits to congressmen and their families after they have served their time.
