1. The Shoreham-Wading River school board unanimously approved a $144,480 plan to hire reading tutors and teachers for the district's elementary and middle schools.

2. Two part-time reading teachers help at Wading River and Briarcliff Elementary Schools and nine reading tutors will aid students at the Prodell Middle School and each of the elementary schools.
