New Start, Dismissal Times for Riverhead Schools

Double check the list below to make sure you know what time your child needs to be dropped off and picked up.

It's almost time for the first bell of the new school semester to ring -- but in Riverhead, there's a new schedule of both start and dismissal times.

"As part of our district-wide effort to make the best use of our financial resources, we have made some important adjustments to the school hours of several of our buildings," said Riverhead Central School District Superintendent Nancy Carney. "By making these adjustments, we will be able to operate our transportation department more efficiently and reduce the amount of fuel we use."

Carney said the district will also be able to offer high school students an additional late bus home at 3:15 pm and allow most elementary teachers a common planning time that will help them to deliver a coordinated approach to students' education.
