NJROTC To Help the Needy This Holiday Season

The cadets caroled with the town's seniors on Friday night.

The Riverhead High School Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps have been busy.

Besides competing in two drill meets so far this year, placing third at the SUNY Maritime Drill in September, and also third at the Bethel Drill Meet in November — they'll help spread holiday cheer to the needy this season.

Cadets will be preparing 200 Christmas food baskets for the needy families of Riverhead with the Rotary in the high school cafeteria after school on December 20.

The cadets caroled with the Lions Club at the Senior Care Center on Friday night.

They'll also participate in a pass-in-review on Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Riverhead High School gym; the next drill meet will take place Dec. 21 at Mattituck High School.
