Riverhead Honors Award-Winning Students

Two members of the Class of 2012 headed to Ivy League.

Riverhead parents were beaming with pride this week as a stellar group of high school students took home a bevy of academic awards at a ceremony held this week at Riverhead High School.

The district's Top 15 students in the Class of 2012 were also feted, as Assistant Principal Charles Regan introduced them and announced what colleges or universities they will attend.

The impressive roster included Valedictorian Daugile Savaneviciute, who will attend Harvard University and study physics, and John Rios, who is headed to Princeton University to major in classics.

Other acadamic institutions chosen by this year's graduating class include SUNY Stony Brook, Loyola University, SUNY Binghampton, Bringham Young University, St. Joseph's College, the Suffolk County Community College Honors Program, SUNY Geneseo, the University of Rochester, and the Albany College of Pharmacy.
