Photo of the Day: Riverhead Students Have Heart

On Valentine's Day, they presented funds they raised to the American Heart Association.

Valentine's Day took on new meaning for a group of Riverhead elementary school students this year.

During the month of February, the Roanoke Avenue Elementary School’s Student Council held fundraisers for the American Heart Association. The kids sold "Go Red for Women" pins and hosted a movie night.

All together, the children raised $559, and on Valentine's Day, the proceeds were presented to Terri Zenobio, a representative from the American Heart Association.

Lisa - is there any way to post on the main page? That would be a big help. Thank you.
