Riverhead Cheerleaders Heading to Atlanta
Varsity cheerleading squad came in first place in small varsity division in Scarsdale competition.
The Riverhead varsity cheerleading squad will soon be heading to Atlanta after it won a regional competition in Scarsdale over the weekend.
The squad came in first place in the small varsity division - defeating 12 teams - and was also the grand champion of the competition, beating out 24 teams.
Head Coach Stephanie Piriano said the team will be competing in Eastchester at the end of the month and participating in a Hampton Bays fundraiser on Feb. 4 before heading to the Cheersport Nationals on Feb. 17, 18 and 19.
