VIDEO: Veteran Speaks To Riverhead 2nd Graders

Sgt. Sam Cila, who was wounded in Iraq, spoke about the importance of saying "thank you" to veterans.

Retired Army Sergeant Sam Cila recently talked to second-graders at about his military service and life for Veterans Day. Cila was wounded in the line of duty in Iraq in 2005, and lost the use of his left hand, eventually having to have it amputated.

Cila continues to live an active lifestyle, participating in sporting events including marathons and bike races. He also continues to serve in various community organizations including as .
