Scholarships Available From East End Women's Network

Deadline to apply is May 15 for female high school seniors.

The East End Women’s Network has announced its annual student scholarship competition, available to any female senior attending high school in Riverhead or anywhere on the East End.

The winner of the competition will receive $1,000 and the runner-up will get $500.  Judging is based on grade average, community and school involvement, reference letters, goals, and an essay on about why it is important for women to support one another.

Eligibility is offered to female high school seniors in any of the five East End towns — Riverhead, Southampton, Southold, Shelter Island, and East Hampton — in addition to Eastport Manor High School and Shoreham-Wading River High School.

The deadline to apply is May 15. The two finalists will be selected to be interviewed and to present their essays orally. Both students will attend the June East End Women’s Network dinner meeting, where they will receive their checks.
