Blue Waves Heading to County Title Game

Football team beat West Babylon, will face North Babylon next weekend.

The Blue Waves football team took down West Babylon Saturday afternoon at home, 30-14, and will face off against North Babylon next Sunday to vie for the Suffolk County Division II title.

Quarterback Ryan Bitzer threw for over 200 yards, receiver Quinn Funn hauled in a 74-yard touchdown pass and finished with over 100 yards, and running back Jeremiah Cheatom finished the day with 135 yards on the ground, according to the Riverhead News-Review.

Funn told the News-Review: “Since ninth grade, I’ve been thinking about playing at Stony Brook my senior year. We did it. Now we need to keep winning.”

The Blue Waves will play at noon next Sunday at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
