Classic Boat Fair & Maritime Art Show

The East End Classic Boat Society will have it’s annual Classic Boat Fair and Maritime Art Show Friday, July 13th through Sunday, July 15th rain or shine at it’s Community Boat Shop on Bluff Road in Amagansett.

There will be many classic wood boats on display and demonstrations on Saturday of boat building and restoration. The Maritime Art Show inside the Community Boat Shop will feature paintings and photography from over 60 East End artists and on Saturday plein air artists will be painting the Atlantic double dunes from the deck of the Community Boat Shop. There is no admission charge to the event and the Community Boat Shop is handicap accessible.

The Classic Boat Fair will feature all of the boats built by The East End Classic Boat Society since it’s inception in 1998 as well as boats built prior. Boat building and restoration demonstrations on Saturday will include steambending, riveting, planing and rope tying. Tickets will be on sale for this year’s raffle boat, a Swampscott dory, which was constructed by volunteer members of The East End Classic Boat Society. The raffle includes a new galvanized Load Rite trailer and a pair of oars.

The Maritime Art Show will have paintings, photography and sculpture. Paintings will include oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, mixed media and pen & ink. The art show is being organized by The East End Classic Boat Society and the Artists Alliance of East Hampton.

The neighboring East Hampton Town Marine Museum will be open Saturday and Sunday with no admission charge.
