Maysonet Schedules Workouts with NFL Teams

Newsday reports that former Riverhead High School star Miguel Maysonet had a standout day at Friday's Pro Day at Stony Brook University.

Miguel Maysonet will soon complete private workouts with the New York Giants, New York Jets and New England Patriots as a result of his performance at Friday's Pro Day at Stony Brook, according to a report published in Newsday.

Maysonet, a Riverhead High School product who played three standout seasons as a running back at Stony Brook University, ran 40-yard dash times of 4.45, 4.49 and 4.56 – which he couldn't do at the NFL combine in February due to a hamstring injury. Newsday reported that he also impressed NFL scouts with his bench press (225 pounds 21 times), short shuttle time (4.01 seconds), vertical jump (31-1/2 inches) and broad jump (8-9 and 8-11).

"Honestly, I wasn't really nervous,'' he told Newsday. "When I put my hand down on the start, I knew I was doing it for myself and my family. That's the only thing that was going through my mind: I have to do this for my family.''
