Melodee Riley Signs on to Jump at UConn

Riverhead High School athlete, state champion in long jump, heading to UConn next year.

Melodee Riley, who and came in fourth place in a national competition last June, announced that she will be heading to jump at UConn next year on a full scholarship.

Riley will join former teammate Treval Hatcher in Storrs, and was humble in saying her options were somewhat limited in picking schools. Her mother, Lori, was a little more candid.

"She had a stack of 135 letters from all over the country," she said. "But on her first official visit [to UConn], she loved it."
