One Year Ago Today: Riverhead Raceway Champ Justin Bonsignore Wins

For racing fans, it was a night to remember.

And for Justin Bonsignore, it was sweet victory: One year ago today, on July 30, 2011, the racing champ won his first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at his home track,

Later in 2011, Bonsignore won the NASCAR Weekly Series Modified championship at Riverhead Raceway on September 10.

Watch the YouTube video and relive Bonsignore's victory. Bonsignore also gives back: In June, Bonsignore, the 2011 Riverhead Raceway Modified Champion, raced in the  at the Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, Connecticut -- and donated his proceeds to the Trinca Famiy Memorial Fund.

Keri Trinca and her seven-year-old son in a horrific car accident last year; her children Marialena and Christopher were badly injured.
