Todd Caden Memorial Scholarship Tournament held from Friday through Sunday.

Forty baseball teams from across Long Island competed Friday through Sunday in the Todd Caden Memorial Scholarship Tournament, a fund raiser held atto raise money for a baseball scholarship.

Tournaments were held in five age divisions, ranging from nine to 13.

Riverhead fielded teams in the nine and 11-year old age divisions, and had planned on fielding a 14-year old team though not enough teams signed up to host a full bracket.

The tournament, which consisted mostly of private clubs, began on a bitter Friday night, continued through a cold and windy Saturday, and finished up on a sunny Sunday.

Proceeds from the tournament benefited the Todd Caden Scholarship Fund, a scholarship to deserving members of the Long Island Mariners Sports Academy, an organization with ten teams ranging from ages 9U to 18U.
