Cooling Centers Open Around Riverhead
The center will be open until 4 p.m. each day this week.
With temperatures to reach 100 degrees by Wednesday and last through the weekend, the Towns of Southampton and Riverhead, as well as Suffolk County, have opened its several cooling centers.

Noon to 8 p.m.
Riverhead Town

8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Authorities are also urging residents to take precautions to avoid heat stroke and heat exhaustion by avoiding strenuous activities, wear light clothing, use air conditioning and stay hydrated.
