Riverhead Fourth of July Fireworks Guide 2013

A fireworks show draws a crowd from near and far. As it turns out, on the East End, it's not just the Fourth of July when there's an opportunity to see a display of lights in the sky — explosive pyrotechnics pop-off from Montauk to Westhampton and the North Fork to Riverhead all summer long , so you'll have plenty of chances to catch a show.

July 3

Greenport: Fireworks at the Greenport school, 10 p.m., presented by the Greenport Fire Department in conjunction with their annual carnival, held on the polo grounds at Moores Lane.

North Sea: There will be a fireworks display at the North Sea Fire Department Carnival at the Memorial Athletic Field at 9:30 p.m.

July 4

Westhampton Beach: The Westhampton Country Club puts on a fireworks display, but you don't have to be a member to enjoy the show; they are visible from various locations throughout the village. Showtime: around 9 p.m.

Riverhead: Grangebel Park fireworks, hosted by the Riverhead Business Improvement District. Start time 9 p.m.

July 5

Southampton: Catch Fireworks by Grucci.  The show is part of the 26th Annual American Picnic to benefit the Southampton Fresh Air Home, but can be seen from elsewhere on Meadow Lane. Visithttp://www.sfah.org/american-picnic.html for info.

July 6

Montauk: Stars Over Montauk, sponsored by Montauk Chamber of Commerce, Umbrella Beach TIME?

Amagansett: Devon Yacht Club Fireworks, non-members can catch from Fresh Pond Beach, 9:15 p.m.

Riverhead: Not just cars at the Riverhead Raceway — fireworks start at 9 p.m.

Riverhead: Peconic Bay Medical Center Family Festival fireworks, 6164 Route 25A, Wading River, starts at 10:15 p.m.

North Sea: There will be a fireworks display at the North Sea Fire Department Carnival at the Memorial Athletic Field at 9:30 p.m.

Sag Harbor: The Sag Harbor Yacht Club sponsors a fireworks show at 9 p.m. Catch it from Marine Park.

Greenport: Fireworks at the Greenport school, 10 p.m., presented by the Greenport Fire Department in conjunction with their annual carnival, held on the polo grounds at Moores Lane.

July 13

Shelter Island: The Shelter Island Chamber of Commerce sponsors an Annual Fireworks Display to celebrate the 4th of July at Crescent Beach. The show begins at dusk. Rain Date, Sunday, July 14.

July 20

East Hampton: The Clamshell Foundation's annual Great Bonac Fireworks Show over Three Mile Harbor benefits the foundation's programs on the East End. Show starts between 9:20 and 9:30 p.m.

August 24

Riverhead: Not just cars at the Riverhead Raceway — fireworks start at 9 p.m.

August 31

East Hampton: The East Hampton Fire Department fireworks show at Main Beach, starts at dusk. Parking is on a first-come first-serve basis. No vehicles are allowed on the beach from Egypt Beach to Georgica Beach inclusive.
