ChickenKidz Consignment Event

A children’s consignment event is a smart way for you to clean out those closets and cash in. Everyone has things their children have outgrown. Some choose to sell their things on Craigslist or Facebook, others, able to withstand heat stroke, plan and host a garage sale. How is the ChickenKidz Consignment event different?

One of the major differences that you probably haven’t thought of … we’re anonymous. I know lots of Moms that schedule “meet ups” with people they don’t know. Many transactions take place at the home. Or if you want to play it "safe", a public place such as a parking lot. Only during the day. Smart, right?  I’m not so sure. First of all, they know what you look like, the make, model and license plate number of your car, the sex and approximate age of your child (either because of what you’re buying or because they are in the backseat), your email address and if you work or don’t work at that particular time of day … hmmmmmm.

Now I’m not trying to scare you. The majority of transactions are completely innocent and harmless and definitely a viable option to earn some extra cash – one Mom simply looking to buy things from another Mom. But all it takes is one transaction to go south and the whole sport is spoiled.

A consignment event is anonymous because every Seller is assigned a “number”. No one knows that number but you. When people are shopping, they don’t know whose items they are buying. You’re not even there, you’re at the playground enjoying the day with your kids. You priced your items at home, probably in your bathrobe and in front of the TV, and you brought them to the Riverhead Polish Hall where we display them for hundreds of shoppers to purchase. You can check your account on-line each night and find out what items were sold. But who bought them, no one knows! Just like at Macys. Anonymous.

Next week … we discuss the fun of shopping at a Consignment Event with over 15,000 items all in one spot.  Overwhelming?  A little.  We’ll supply you with a “plan of attack” so you can achieve Shopping Ninja status.
